I don't think you can put an electronic computer controlled engine in a mechaical truck with out a lot of money and some expert help. Second if you could place and old style injection pump in this engine you would need diferent injectors which would significantly lower the horsepower and torque. Plus all the other comments. I have a 93 250 Dodge with the Cummins and it cost me close to three grand to upgrade to 1997 horsepower and torque, but I have to drive the cost of the upgrade, I can't sell it.
