all the guys are right, but they forgot one thing:
In the moment You step on the bottom to close the exhaust with the valve the dieselpump goes on zero
(we say "Nullförderung" in germany) and there will get no fuel in the cylinders, so there is no fuel to burn it, and the gas what will be in the exhaust till this valve will brake the piston, so that the engine works as a brake for the truck and You want have to use the brakes so much. We call this "Motorbremse" overhere. Motor=engine
bremse=brake
