Late C's had factory water pumps, many early C's had water pumps added by dealers, so you can't really tell by looking for a water pump. I usually tell by looking at the grill height and the gas tank mounting bracket. The best way is the serial number. If it's missing, look at the engine serial number, it's stamped on the block below #1 sparkplug kind of behind the coil. It won't be exactly the same as the tractor number, but it should be close.
