I was working in the foundry at John Deere in Waterloo, Ia. and they started to lay people off. I missed it for bout a year then got the notice. The day I got layed off, 1000 people got laid off. You couldn't buy a job anywhere and if you wanted a rental truck to move out of town, you had to wait a month till they brought one back as people were moving out in droves. I don't ever want to go through that again.
