Without the tractor running, my cheap multi-meter reads 6.39 volts at the battery. When running the voltage at the battery is 8.2 to 8.4. I have turned the adjustment screw as far as it can be turned to reduce the voltage, but it only reduced the voltage .3. I think it was Tim Daley who said that this is not a 9n generator but a later model for a 2n. It is a single wire generator. The cut out that I put on the 9n is from a 2n parts tractor. This generator had sat so long that the armature was stuck in the end cap bushing. I took it apart to free it up and lubricate it, and I do not think that I changed anything else in side it. Am I in danger of blowing up a battery if I continue running it at 8.2 volts charging rate? Does the generator need a break in cycle, after being awaken from it long long sleep? Thank you SDE
