You didn't mention whether the switch is part of your charging system or not. Many of the tractors of that vintage used cut-out relays instead of regulators and used the light switch with a resistor to control the charge rate. I am not that familiar MM. But if this is the case, your replacement switch would have to be able to perform this function.
I would say your options are:
1. Find the right switch.
2. Replace the Cut-Out Relay with a Regulator.
3. Add another switch and resistor to control the charging.
Options 2 and 3 will require rewiring your system. Once again am not familiar with MM. Any of these options should be researched and advised by someone who is familiar with MM charging systems.
