Ok folks needing a little help here.
I've got a 489 that's been sitting in the pasture for the last 3 years. Used one time back then just to see if it worked and it did. Well this year I've bought a baler and plan on doing my own hay. So I brought the Haybine up yesterday to grease all the fittings and check the oil in the gear boxes and that's where the needed help comes in.
No Manuel but I have one ordered. So I check the lower fittings and as expected no oil comes out on the box to the left went to check the other box and when I unscrewed the fittings it let out air and no oil. Removed the fill plug and instead of oil it looks like grease in it. Is this normal to use grease in a gear box ?? Thanks folks
