I don't know much about these things so this is probably a stupid question, but here it is:

Why there is so much resistance in the spark plug wires? I've always thought that they are just simple wire with very low resistance. It was a surprise for me to discover that the spark plug wires in my car have a text on them that says: "15 kOhms". Could someone answer me, please?
