Find a good used compact in the 25 - 30 hp range. There are lots of JDs, Fords, Kubotas, New Hollands, etc. around. Which is better? Depends on who you ask. I have a JD 950 (27 PTO hp) that runs a 6' brush hog just fine.
I recommend a front end loader also. It will be the second most useful implement (behind the brush hog) that you will find.
Try asking on jplan.com or tractorbynet.com. Both of these are compact tractor web sites
