Holding an engine in place

I have an bit of a dilemma on my hands. I am tearing down a Farmall H motor for rebuild and am down to getting the pully off the front that drives the water pump. I have banged out the pin the crank connects to, and now have to remove a large nut holding the pully on. How do I get that pully (and engine) to stop turning? I have the tractor parked in first gear, it still turns. Clutch must be pretty rough. Thanks for any and all suggestions. -BTD
