I have always owned chevys, never considered anything unless until recently. My 99 silverado was get tired at 50k miles pull my 10k gvw gooseneck trailer so I traded for a duramax. The 99 gasser out performed the duradud. In two months of ownership I replaced both heads, leaking front seal on the allison, rear slider seal, and xfer case. Just trade for a Cummins, it is a little slower off the line, it is a little louder than the 'stroke. but in 10k mile nothing has gone wrong. It is a daily commuter and pulls 10k+ trailer every weekend. The dodge wrapping is a smoother and more stable ride than the ford and pulls harder than duradud. Just my .02
