I got the deal done. Picked it up this morning. This is how it looked coming right off the trailer. I shouldn't have posted pictures yet until I get it buffed out,but it's all just oxidation. I took a little bit of rubbing compound to it this evening and just a shop rag in one little spot and she shines like new under there.
It was quite an emotional experience for the guy I got it from. When we talked Tuesday,he just wasn't ready to let go. He called me back Thursday and told me to come and get it. He lives in town,didn't even have a place to put it inside and couldn't give it the attention it deserves. He said that since I'm a collector and live in the same neighborhood where it's spent its life,he was OK with me having it. It was still tough on him this morning when I paid him and loaded it.
The neighbors have been here already to have another look at "Uncle Claud's tractor".
