Well, I'm about 100 miles from Rochester too - Rochester Minnesota, that is. :) Just in a whiny mood this week. Taking a look at my future again - I can survive the ecconomy & farming & the work. What trips me up is the govt - I can't plan for or understand that. They can put me out of buisness in a month, and nothing I can do about it. Hard to plan with that over a person. What bothers you about manure? It's concentrated plant matter. If I harvest 100 acres of corn, feed it to cattle, and spread the manure created on 100 acres again, what is the difference if I had done nothing & 100 acres of corn just died on the 100 acres without harvesting it? There are problems with livestock operations that feed 5000 acres worth of corn to their livestock, and then wish to spread it on 100 acres of land! That would not be 'natural'. I do not understand the irrational fear people have of manure tho, it's just digested plant matter. --->Paul

In the winter, we'd play
