Interesting turn in this thread. I see the X6 came up, so here's my X6 story. I was 12 when my brother came back from Vietnam, and he had two bikes with him. A Honda 450CL and this little red Suzuki twin. Little did I know what the Suzuki was at my age, and my older brother said it had been left out and got wet, and was seized. He let/asked me to tinker with it, and being a young wrench, started in.

I'd been fiddling with mini-bikes, go-karts, and some had little Homelite 2 strokes, even one with an old washing machine 2 stroke(seriously, old washing machines had engines on them). But never messed with anything like this.

Long story shorter, I got the top of the engine off, and found a broken pair of rings. Maybe I broke them getting it off. My brother didn't want to mess with it, but after bugging him constantly for 3 weeks straight, one day he came home with a little thin bag and inside were - engine rings!

I and a buddy put it together that night, changed the crankcase oil, and put a few cents of gas and oil in the tank(we didn't know it had autolube). Finally, we got it started, but each time we put it in gear, it would die real fast. Found out the clutch plates were locked up too. So, we started pushing and jamming it into gear with the clutch in until it broke loose.

I fired it up, and took off. Of course, the first thing I did was really open it up. OH - MY - GOSH! This thing flew. My brother came out hearing the engine run, and me take off, and as soon as I got back, the plugs were oil fouling from autolube and also pre-mix. Good thing, because I was gonna kill myself on that bike.

Smart brother, he took it away, locked it. Being me, again I bugged him relentlessly to ride it. Finally, after almost 4 years, and my learners permit, he let me ride it, along with him on the 450. Thank you brother, I'm alive today thanks to not riding that bike until I was 15.

Later bikes that flowed from the X6 was the Yam RD350/400 and yes, the Kawa Mach III 500. I had both, and they both flowed from the X6, which was an amazing bike for the time.
