I remember it running OK for about that period of time and then I could hear it starting to bang .... I did a bit of web searching, here is an answer that somebody gave someone else relating to the same issue. Seems to me this sounds familiar as to this problem I had. Hopefully yours doesn't fall into this category ....
IF YOU HAVE THE SAME TROUBLE I HAD WITH MY C YOU WILL NEED TO SPLIT THE TRACTOR AND TAKE THE PUMP OFF THEN LOOK INSIDE THE CAM SHAFT.THERE SHOULD BE A ROLL PIN IN THERE THAT DRIVES THE PUMP. MINE SHEARED OFF AND I HAD TO PULL THE CAM OUT TO REPLACE IT. I ALSO HAVE A B IN THE SHOP TORN DOWN SO I THOUGHT I WOULD CHECK THE PIN IN IT AND SHURE ENUGF IT IS ALMOST INTO ALSO. I USED A DRILL BIT INSTED OF A ROLL PIN ITS HARDER AND SOLID.GOOD LUCK
