Well just after WWII farmers were about 20% of the population and now they are about 2% and over production is more of a problem now than it was back then,so I can't see how reducing the number of farmers anymore will solve the problem.My opinion if the gov't would get 100% out of farming with their money and their 'help' and let the free market work things out then farmers, taxpayers,everyone would be better off.If farmers had to stand alone and not be bailed out for over production,risky crop production etc then things would settle out.
