Saw a few Packards working a service station weekends in high school. In one instance I was supposed to do something to the front tires/wheels of about a 1955, very long, deluxe 2 door hardtop. Jacked up the front end, did the work and let the jack back down........but wait, the rear end was almost dragging the ground....scared me big time.
Owner of the station was standing in the doorway of the station (his usual posture with his hand up on the door sill, over his head, other fist on his hip), and saw me walking around it and looking very puzzled.....he comes over laughing and said to start the car. I did and it leveled back up.....didn't know about Packards, nor air bag suspension.....like Hudson, another great car left by the wayside.
