Used to be a lot more dealers selling cars and tractors both. Chapin sold Massey Harris and Nash,Hardy sold AC and Studebaker in Stanton where Adams sold both Ford lines. Jonas in Belding sold John Deere and Ponitac,later dropped Deere and just stayed with cars.
Harry Allen was a Deere dealer until the early 50s when he switched to Ford. I remember going right to his house with Dad one time. He had a few new unsold pieces of Deere tillage equipment rusting in the weeds there at home.
