Try adjusting the carb first .

Get an I & T manual at your local New Holland dealer . It will be the best money you spend on that tractor .

Adjust per the book and see if that cures the problem . It did on mine .

As far as rebuilding a carb goes , just follow the instructions and it is not hard to do . There is even a step by step on this site .

Next time you have a problem with your 8N , try the N Board also . There are a lot of great guys there who know their Ns .They have been a big help to me .
