Wow. I have been a pretty silent observer of this site for quite a while, and have seen the so-called color wars crop up from time to time. I am an engineer at a very reputable tractor manufacturing facility, and I will tell you that each and every particular brand (color) of tractor from the past has contributed to the design and build of each and every tractor manufactured today. It has been that way since the beginning of tractor history. If you think that Deere or CIH or New Holland or whatever designed and built each and every feature on thier particular tractor, you have made a mistake. I would just nearly guarantee that Deere has a CIH MX270 somewhere that they completely tore down and "learned" about some of the new features of this machine. And vise-versa, CIH probably has a Deere 8750 Combine that they are in turn "learning" about. There is a lot of "reverse engineering" going on out there folks. About the only things that seem to staying the same on tractors are their colors. Anyway, I really enjoy this site and the quality of the people that use it. I have learned more about modern tractors by reading the posts of those who know these antique tractors on this site better than anyone else, and for that I say thanks!! Just my 4 cents.
