You did'nt talk to a real Perkins man. Perkins has never-ever stopped making the parts for the engine. Perfect Circle and Federal Mogul both have very good rebuild kits You can outright exchange the injector pump with folks like Abilene Machine for around $350 plus freight. I don't doubt that your "rebuilder" gave you false ifo that stuff happens everyday. The truth of it is that he either lied to you or does'nt know what he's talking about. What part of the country are you located I would like to find a supply of junked Dexta and Majors both.
