Yes, nasty job. I hope you are wear a respirator in addition to your safety glasses. That old paint and rust is nasty. Since I had my surgery that stuff really bothers my sinuses so I have to be very careful. I cannot smell after the surgery so I have to be double careful.
For jobs like that I found you need lots of different forms of wire brushes to get to all the areas.
Are you going to straighten those rim edges. Looks like a approx. 1" rod used as a punch would roll those edges back nicely.
