A bit of History; the tag on 4014says it was built at the ALCO, American Locomotive Company, Schenectady New York. The ALCO was out of business when they tried to retool for the diesel engine locomotives, as the engine blocks were cracking from the combustion pressure. They retooled to make the engine blocks from solid blocks and using an extrusion method to eliminate and casting blemishes. It was too late and ALCO closed. On the ALCO site in Schenectady, along the Mohawk River, there now stands a new casino, Rivers Casino, on Erie Blvd headed to Freemans Bridge and Scotia.
