The Case steam tractor had power steering in the very early 1900's. I think it was a model 110.
It was a mechanical system that used cone clutches to turn the steering worm gear. It was amazing to see the operator turn that hulking huge thing with 2 fingers on the control lever. really amazing when you saw others huff and wheeze as they made many turns of a hand wheel to do the same job on much smaller machines.
