It will work good if you put some skirts on the lip so you narrow the spread down narrow for the driveway. If you don't put skirts on it will spread the sand too wide and it will not put enough in the drive to help. The ones Tractor Supply or Quality have are just as good as the high priced ones are for what you want, or this time of the year you may find a good used one at auction. The ones I see around here are from $300 to $375 new. I gave $50 at auction for a 750 Herd that's like new.
