I was bush hogging today and my PTO suddenly stopped working. I checked the lever position and it seems to stop just short of locking into gear for the PTO. I drained the fluid out of the gear box and took off the top lid where the shifters are and dug out 6-7 round rods, and 6-7 round rods withh a notch on the end and more of a rounded triangular shape. Further looking at the mechanism it looks like the steel pills may be from the clutch mechanism at the bottom of the gear box, for the PTO. How do I take this apart? Separate the engine? Rear transaxle? I don't have any sort of manual, but have worked on gear boxes for trucks before............Help???!!
