Pic is of my 2000 Polaris.
Inner halfshaft hub is stuck...I mean really stuck.
It's been right side up until today. Been spraying with penetrating oil all week. Welded a bolt to the hub, been using a 20lb slide hammer...it wont budge. Can't get the other side out, it's stuck too.
Today decided to drain the fluids, remove the battery and flip it on it's side so I could let it soak in acetone and transmission fluid...there's a recess in the case, lets the penetrating oil pool around the shaft.
Just for kicks tied the strap around the hub, picked up the back end of the atv with it, and was whacking the side of the hub with a hammer...still no movement.
About ready to chain the hubs to a couple tractors and pull until something gives. I need a 4 wheeler, gonna start calving soon, and if I can't repair this one.....
