Unless you have access to plenty of labor a round baler is the way to go. With the round bales you can mow several acres at a time, then rake and bale it a couple of days later. The round bales can be left in the field until you get time to retrieve them with a bale spear on your tractor. The WD may not have enough HP to run anything more than the smallest round balers, but if you are serious about haying you will almost need two tractors. We've always used one tractor to rake with, and a second to bale with, as it is more time efficient. The WD has plenty of power for a square baler. If you are gonna purchase a used square baler you might want to go with the New Holland, they are really good machines, and parts from several models over a span of a number of years will interchange.
