It is amazing to see what can be done and how fast it can be done when it's "mission critical". We had a bridge over the interstate get damaged a few years ago, that bridge was down to the ground in about 4-5 days. Had that been a summer time bridge replacement the old one would have been weeks coming down. There are still some skilled people doing difficult construction jobs and they know how to get it done safely and quickly. I would be willing to bet that the construction company in this case were given an open check book, and will get it done cheaper than if it were planned and mulled over for ayear or two by the white hats and governing agency red tape guys.
