My dad used to idle it down and choke it to kill it. When he put the old A away for the winter he would choke it to kill it, then turn off the fuel after it died. Next spring he had to put a crowbar in the flywheel to break it loose. I was too young at the time to know better. I still have that tractor and I kill it by turning off the gas. It hasn't stuck since even if it sits a couple years. My neighbor had a 39 B that was so tired he would idle it down then lean his hip at the overall pocket into the flywheel to kill it. I tried that with our 35 A and burned a hole in my pants.
