Thank you for the quick reply. Yes it does have a vertical lever behind the seat. If I'm understanding correctly it is a 430 series and a 441 model. The serial number is 8340602. The tractor belonged to my father-in-law and my wife believed her dad bought it new in 1963 until a mechanic told her it was actually a 1968 model. So we're not sure what year it is.
The PTO problem started a few years ago. At first when you pulled the lever to shut off the PTO it would wind down for a while. Eventually wouldn't stop unless some pressure was put on it, like a brush hog blades contacting brush. Sometimes you could jiggle the lever and get it to stop. Currently it continues to move no matter what. To be perfectly clear it also moves when there is no Implement on the PTO.
