You have to understand that they have overhead. We live in a highly competitive world. Whether you buy the tire(s) from them or not, they have overhead.
Unfortunately, many types of work performed on cars is work that never used to cost much if anything. Things are different today. Even if they installed your tire for free, if something went wrong, see how quick they would be back with a lawyer ready to sue! That is why they have insurance, and that is why it costs so much.
Also note that the people doing the installations deserve a living wage. That is hard work. They also have bills to pay and even families to support.
