I might add my two cents on this question because I have gone both routes, I have used new Prince rams and rebuilt my originals. The question comes down to the condition of your rams. If they are as decent as you say they are give rebuilding a shot. I had to heat the seals up in boiling water to make them pliable enough to roll over a ridge on the hydraulic piston but it worked great. The seals are often direction specific but the hydraulic parts guys are "usually" good enough with advice. Prince makes some decent stuff also and parts are available from Northern. I built and still use a backhoe with Prince rams. good luck!
