Shoveling snow causing a heart attack was talked about back when I was a kid. The general talk stated shoveling snow alone will cause a heart attack and everyone young and old was susceptible. Of course we farm boys laughed at it because we had a shovel in our hands most of the time and we didn't drop dead from it. A man with a weak heart will drop from over exertion at any temperature but will drop a little sooner when he is sucking in cold air shoveling snow.
