here yellow and red diesel are the same in fact it is not uncommon for fuel delivery truck to bring yellow to the farm and add the dye there rather than keep 2 bulk tanks at the distribution point. Have heard of occasions when they forget to add the dye. Heating oil is the same but has some kerosene added to prevent gelling in very cold weather. It does not have as much heat in it so I try to get my heating oil tank filled early (my tank is buried) before it is diluted. Winter diesel is the same as heating oil. I have often used heating oil in my tractor (MF65 Industrial) for winter work (plowing snow, feeding cattle)
