Ken; Sounds as if you have 310D that has had an over bore kit installed. The smaller piston in #4 is a puzzle, Sounds like one of the old smaller pistons was re-installed in the larger sleeves, although I'm not sure how this would happen. The piston would be noticably loose in the bore and you would'nt be able to set ring end gap. You can check with you're Case dealer for Rebuild kits in standard and/or over bore. These are still offered by Case but not always on the shelf, so it could take a week or two to come in. Just a thought before you sink the money in the engine. You might want to check the transmission, running gear, hydralics, and DON'T over look the tracks and drive sprokets. Crawlers that are left to the elements for prolonged periods tend to decompose pretty quick. They can become a money pit in short order. It happened to me with an old CAT. You can expect lot of leaky seals. Don't want to rain on you're parade, just passing on a caution. Regards, J.L.
