It's positive ground,and make darned sure you get all three cables and that you ground it to one of the starter bolts at the bell housing. There's a cable from the battery to the starter button,button to starter,and ground. Where those tractors grounded originally would fail when those tractors were just a few years old. They grounded to the cowl up by the battery. The mating of the steel and cast at the frame would rust in just a few years and you'd loose your ground. That's why you'd most likely always see Olivers parked on a hill back in the day.
