One of the things (besides simplicity) that makes us interested in the old tractors is memories- Grandpa's old Oliver, or Dad's 8N- Farming then was a way of life, and I think farmers are much less interested in their tractors now that farming has turned into big business. The tractor is just another tool to use until it is used up, then throw it away. Farmers kids (besides being few and far between anymore) will not form the attachments we did to the tractors we used in our youth, because that tractor will be long since gone and replaced. I agree with the previous writers- the only tractors to retain collectors' interest will be the same ones we are collecting now, and the hobby will eventually die as fewer and fewer people have any farm memories to try to rekindle. I've seen the same thing in old cars (teens and twenties)- except for a few fancy or high performance models, there is virtually no interest in that era, and those cars are selling for less than they did 20 years ago.
