If you have a receiver hitch on the truck, you can buy a receiver tube that accepts a pintle hitch to be bolted to it; this might be easier than trying to modify the trailer if you buy it. The price sounds right if everything is in good shape (brakes, deck, axles etc), it hasn't been abused(overloaded) and if it is not homebuilt with mobile home axles like someone said. Yes, a 3-axle turns a little harder and it might bounce a little more when empty, but there are quite a few good factory built ones in use. I don't believe there should be more than a $300-500 price difference on a new trailer for gooseneck versus pintle/ball, assuming all else is equal(length, wheels/tires, GVW, frame, no deckover).
