In 2010 we had back to back blizzards here on the East Coast. Many roofs caved in. I had just put up a pole barn so the metal roofing was new and slippery. Snow drifts slid off. Older roofs get rusty. Snow does not slide off. Also, you need to pay close attention to the lower cord splice joints on the trusses. They pull apart then collapse. Things to consider.
