Pintle hitches when properly installed haul some heavy equipment on medium duty trucks not pickips. You can weld a ball hitch and a load distribution ball hitch for a max of 12,000 lbs. If your trailer and your tractor weighs in under 12000 go for it. If over consider the goose neck. I am considering going to a goose neck as it does not have a 1,000 limit on tongue weight. Oh yes a pintle hitch does not distribute the load
