No arguement there, certain people do like bouncing ideas off others. That's what email is about. It's also what "Country Talk" is for on this board. "Tractor Talk" is for tractors. Would you ask an Oliver question in the "Farmall" group? Me neither! Like many folks, I have a wide variety of interests. Thererfore, I participate in many discussion and newgroups, all on topic. Any discussion group administrator/moderator will tell you that the fastest way to drive readers away from a group is to allow repeated off-topic posting, primarily for the reasons I have already mentioned. While each group has its own culture, and I think that's a good thing, try asking just one tractor related question in news:rec.tech.autos, for example. They will flame you into a cinder.
