They quit making them in (best I can remember) 1963, but in 1980, shortly after I started at Boeing, I worked on them. We were doing avionics upgrades, and I was on the engineering team. They keep getting upgrades, and there was a proposal a few years back to replace the 8 (!) engines with two engines similar to those used on the 757. Saw one do a low flyby down Boeing field in Seattle in formation with a B-17 once for a company photo op. Very impressive. I was standing by the runway fence probably only a hundred yards away and they were less than 200 ft altitude.
