With no particular model in mind, let's start a factory to make a reproduction.

1. Whoops, gotta put fenders & a roll bar on it, it's the law.

2. Gotta go 12 volt, no one wants 6 volt any more.

3. Gotta be 3-point, gotta have 1 hydraulics outlet, gotta have live pto & hyd, gotta have power steering.

4. A lot of people prefer diesel engines over gas, runs cheaper. Hard to buy a gas engine to drop in any more, and tooling up an engine plant will bankrupt all of us! Gotta buy a drop-in engine, and it will be diesel.

5. Folks can buy an old tractor for $1000-5000, repair it up themselves for another $1000. We would need to charge $10,000 for ours.

So, what do we have? A bigger-end Japaneese compact tractor. Not many of the parts will really interchange with the old stuff.

I really, really like your idea. I wish someone would. But it just isn't practical. Wish it was.

JD & NH have started 'ecconomy' lines the past decade, to try to capture a bit of the market that doesn't need all the new dodads. That's about as much as we'll get I suppose.
