Yes, the only reason to ship USPS is when you have small heavy items and use their flat rate boxes. I have put 40# in a medium flat rate box for $14.35 anywhere in the continental US, can go up to 70#. 90% of my auctions the last 2 months were shipped USPS.....just learned to use a ton of shipping tape on the boxes so they make it in one piece!
