I own a John Deere Model 790 4x4 (2000)year. The 790 is still being made buy DEERE and has a 30hp engine, 25hp pto. I have used it to till and move snow / with the loader. It is a sliding collar transmission with dual range 8 forward and two in reverse. I have a 60 inch rear 3point mower Rear discharge (a must I think) Deere calls it there price fighter. I cannot remember the web site that deals with compacts but if you search the internet for John deere 790 or John deere 4300 and it goes close to where you need to go. I have been happy so far with my tractor but don't have many hrs. on it yet. As a point I wanted no less than 25 pto HP Which influenced my dicision to go with the 790. I am sure the NH and Kabota are fine brands. But Hydrostatic transmissions seem to add a lot to the sticker price, but are very good for loader work.
