All tractors now have a exhaust stack that comes up from tractor then turns 90 degrees back over the top of tractor above the driver and extends past the rear of tractor just a little and when hooked to the sled it has a flexible metal hose that comes over top of the exhaustof tractor and sends the smoke and fumes out side,,, the flexible part drags along ground until the end of each pull,, then when sled is pulled back to start positon it drags that way,,,,,BUT 40 years ago there was nothing to get it out side, and if you set in the top rows of freedom hall watching the pulls it became very foggy by the end of the night and you smelled like diesel fumes
