On Fords the 6000 has been hit a lot by others....never had one. 5000 seems to be liked (never had that either) like most of the 1000 series, myself having 2k and 3 k currently and having had half a dozen of the lower hp off and on over the years. The recently purchased 3910, now that I got the vertical muffler installed, is a real honey....the horizontal installation noise was unbearable.
My first two tractors were IH, Farm Super A and '74 464. Just didn't hit it off with me for some reason....only 2 for that badge.
JD 4010 got whacked as a bad buy... JD folks, but I had a '60 something with a JD FEL, Diesel, I really liked as well as the 4020 but it was LP and sucked from a fuel and anything associated with fuel standpoint...my opinion. 4230DC I really liked. Had several MF; TO-20, couple of 35's, very likeable, one Perkie one Continental (recollection) gas, except the operator station was tight as compared to my Fords, big dislike, and my last one had a clutch release tension that was more than my left knee could take....toasted that.
In contrast to your question, I"like" Fords best seems like, for yesterday's tractors.........and you pump input adapter is still working great. Wink!

I have been restoring old Farm Tractors for the past 6 years, and have found it easier and less expensive to hit all the auctions and purchase whole tractors for parts needed. My wife who works at a local school, and only has weekends and summers off, while on t
