I started with Bosch back in 92 or so. They make good tools but with the last stuff I bought which was in 01 or so I couldn't keep a battery charger around, went through 3 of them in 2 years.
Actually bought the Performaxx stuff from Menards and used that for a while around the farm and it wasn't too bad but not as robust as the bigger brands. For the average homeowner they would be a very good inexpensive alternative.
Got talked into a Milwaukee Fuel impact a few years ago at the local farm show and since then I have bought nothing but Milwaukee Fuel tools. Use them at home on the farm and at work.
They hold up quite well and the Fuel series has gobs of power.
