I have a couple friends that have sail boats with small Diesel engines to run generators and to power into port with sails down. They do the "polishing" of their Diesel fuel every spring before they put their sail boats in the water. Basically use a small electric pump to pump the Diesel fuel out of their tanks thru a filter into a drum and then back into their tanks. I had never heard of this "polishing" Diesel before these sailor friends explained the process.
